VI. I interviewed two individuals to see what their response would be to my (our) plan. Their responses are as follows.

QUESTION: What would you think of reforming Section 1 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution to state that "All persons born to legal United States citizens or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

ANSWER 1: "It sounds good to me. Why should your children benefit from your illegal actions? I don't care about the financial aspect because it should never really get to that point. If you're breaking the law, you shouldn't get benefits from breaking that law."

ANSWER 2: "I don't think that it is fair to the children because it is not their decision to be 'illegally born' in the U.S. We have to think about the kids not just paying for stuff."

VII. My (our) answer, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are
Mr. Hosticka agreed with our plan.
Ms. Svee's concern is a legitimate reason why this bill could cause issues. However, I believe that we must consider more than what is "fair." If the parents must return to their country of origin, they can easily take their children with them and continue their lives like normal. Many people have to move during their lifetimes, and this would just be one instance of that situation.
